THE WOODLANDS, TX – As the watch hands spin ever closer to summer (an analog analogy for our not-so-young readers), unsurprisingly the weather is getting warmer. Along with our Gulf current comes some significantly warmer and more humid weather, which makes for above-average pit stains on our shirts. On the plus side, few of us suffer from the chapped lips of residents of colder, drier climes.

Warm and humid, what’s not to love about this weekend’s weather?

Today, Friday, will be dawning with a night of high humidity already behind it and rapidly rising temperatures that will almost – but not quite – break 90. Some relief will kick in during the afternoon as the winds increase from the south. It won’t make it cooler per se, but it will allow us to feel a breeze along with the humid heat.

The clouds will temporarily go away as the sun sets, with the low settling down around 70 degrees. However, as the night progresses, the clouds will make an encore appearance and the clouds will return along with some isolated thunderstorms. The high and low for Saturday will only be a degree lower than the day before; 86 for the high and 69 for the low.

The chance of rain will remain steady over Saturday night into Sunday morning as the winds drop and the clouds increase, along with a high pressure front. Sunday will see cloudy skies all day but hopefully with no more thunderstorms to go along with the grey, and it looks like hights will remain in the upper 80s with a low in the lower 70s.

We’ll wake up Monday to cloudy skies that might have a little precipitation in them, which will eventually morph that afternoon to mostly sunny weather and a high of 87.

Stay tuned for weather updates from Woodlands Online, and be sure to check us out on Monday for our “Week Ahead” forecast.
