Armed Robbery in New Caney

NEW CANEY, TX -- On 5/19/2022 around 11pm, dispatch received a 911 call regarding an armed robbery at the Prime Spot convenience store in New Caney/Roman Forest, (15 Roman Forest Blvd). The suspect, a black male, wearing a mask, pointed a pistol at the store clerks, jumped the counter and demanded the cash in the register. He then fled the scene with approximately $2000 in cash and tobacco products in a black Chrysler 300 bearing a TX license plate that was later found to be stolen.

As law enforcement was arriving, a Pct. 4 Sergeant located the vehicle southbound on Hwy 59 and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit continued southbound on Hwy 59 to 1960 east, then onto the east Hardy, passing Beltway 8 to 610 where units lost sight of the vehicle.

We are asking the public’s help in identifying the suspect described as a black male, approximately 180 lbs. and 5’7”- 5’10” tall. If you have any information, please call 936.760.5800 24/7 and ask to speak with a Pct. 4 deputy.
