Archway Gallery is seeking entries for its 14th annual Juried Exhibition

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Archway Gallery is honored to present its Fourteenth Annual Juried Exhibition, benefiting Scenic Galveston, Inc. This annual event is an opportunity for area artists and non-members of the gallery to participate in an exhibition of works in Houston’s finest artist-owned space. Area artists are invited to apply.

The event will kick off on July 9 with an Opening Reception at the gallery located at 2305 Dunlavy in Houston. The reception will feature complimentary valet parking, refreshments, and remarks by 2002 Exhibition Juror Rosa Ana Orlando. The exhibition itself will be open to the public all month. On Saturday, July 30, there will be a special event from 6 until 8 pm – a Closing Reception with live music by Heights Fools on Stools. At this event, participating artists will have the opportunity to speak about their work. The group show will remain in residence in the gallery until August 4.

Each year for this exhibition, a prominent juror selects works by local artists for the near month-long exhibition, and sales from the exhibition support a nonprofit organization chosen by the gallery members. Archway Gallery’s charity partner this year is Scenic Galveston, Inc., a community-based, all-volunteer habitat conservation service organization, and Galveston Bay-area land trust. It focuses on protection and restoration of wetland and coastal prairie habitats on and around historic Virginia Point Peninsula, Texas.

Artists may enter one or two works for the entry fee of $25. Prizes include generous cash awards. The first-prize winner will also receive a month’s guest artist privileges at Archway Gallery. Interested artists can get entry information and forms on the gallery’s website, www.ArchwayGallery.com.
