Magnolia NJROTC Receives Distinguished Unit With Academic Distinction

MAGNOLIA, TX -- For the first time, Magnolia NJROTC Battalion has been awarded the “Distinguished Unit with Academic Distinction” designation for the unit’s summative performance during the 2022 school year. NJROTC units earning this top designation represent the top 20% of all units nationwide.
This prestigious award is based on having, met and surpassed the criteria for performance at annual Military Inspection (AMI), Community Service projects and events, graduates from both Basic Leadership Training and Leadership Academy camps, and off-campus Field Trips. Additionally, our competition successes at drill meets, field meets, air rifle meets, orienteering meets, and academic competitions throughout the year were also contributing factors.

One of the major components of this award is the unit will be allowed to nominate up to three cadets for appointments at each of the U.S. Service Academies (the Naval Academy at Annapolis MD, the Military Academy at West Point, MY, and the Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, CO).

The unit will be awarded a unique streamer for our unit guidon and all cadets in good standing will be awarded the Distinguished Unit ribbon to wear on their uniforms.
