Magnolia Elementary Celebrates Its 50th Year

MAGNOLIA, TX -- On Friday, May 20, Magnolia Elementary students, faculty, and former staff gathered to celebrate the school’s 50th anniversary since opening its doors in 1971. To commemorate the prestigious milestone, principal Donna Covarrubias, a former student of Magnolia Elementary, addressed the students and guests during the brief morning assembly.

The celebration included a performance by the school’s choir and special speeches by former principal, Michael Daniel, and former counselor Charlene Golden. Magnolia Elementary 2022 retirees Magdalena Cadena, Joy Hebert, and Jimaree McConnell also presented the school with a poem and a Magnolia tree dedicated to the campus. Retired staff were invited to attend a reception where they shared memories of their time at the campus.
