HOUSTON, TX -- Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM) will host its first ever Bowling for Neighbors Bowl-a-Thon fundraiser on Friday, August 5 and Saturday, August 6, 2022, at iT’Z Family Food & Fun – Willowbrook, located at 18355 Tomball Pkwy, Houston, Texas, 77070. Start times will be announced soon online.

The Bowling for Neighbors Bowl-a-Thon is part of NAM’s Survival Over Summer fundraising campaign. Summer can be a difficult time for Houston-area residents, as the break from school means families have extra childcare expenses and no access to meals at school. Seniors on fixed incomes often have to choose between buying food and running air conditioning just to survive the heat. NAM sees a 50% increase in need for services during the summer and hopes to raise at least $25,000 through the Bowl-a-Thon to help keep up with the demand.

Bowling participants should form teams of five and each player must raise a minimum of $50. Teams register online and donations to a player may be made online by searching for the individual bowler’s name. If you don’t have a whole team you can register as a player and will be placed on a team. After registering as a Team or Player you will get a fundraising page where you can get easy buttons and links to send to your friends and family to raise funds. All donations from your links will be attributed to you and your team. Prizes awarded will be based on total fundraising, with the top individual fund-raiser receiving their choice of a Nintendo Switch or Beats Headphones and the top fund-raising team receiving a Team Party for 25 at iT’Z.
