THE WOODLANDS, TX -- On July 5, 2022, the defendant, Lucas Corey Reid, a resident of The Woodlands, TX was arrested for Online Solicitation of a Minor. The Houston Police Department received a crime tip that the defendant was making inquiries to have sex with a 7-year-old child. Undercover detectives with HPD started communicating with the defendant who agreed to pay money for a sexual encounter with the child. HPD requested assistance from the Montgomery County ICAC Task Force. Pct. 3 detectives as well as other members of the task force joined the investigation that led to a Woodlands area hotel where Reid believed he was going to meet the child for sex. Reid was confronted by Pct. 3 investigators and placed in custody after a brief struggle at the hotel. Reid is currently being held on a $60,000 dollar bond at the Montgomery County Jail.

As our children are exposed to the internet now more than ever, Constable Ryan Gable and the Houston Metro ICAC Task Force encourage parents to be diligent in monitoring their children’s online activity and report concerns to law enforcement and to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Concerned parents and guardians should contact local law enforcement by dialing 911 for emergencies. Parents and guardians may also contact NCMEC at 1-800-THE-LOST (1-800-843-5678) or via their website at CyberTipline.org for additional information and resources.
