THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Coming off of a week that broke records, heat-wise, there might be a glimmer of cooler hope on the horizon. Over the next couple of days, we’ll still be climbing into three digits for our highs, but later on a storm front just might start a trend that brings the highs down to more manageable levels.

Muggy weather will play havoc on hairstyles

Today we’ll maintain partly cloudy skies as we reach up to 103 degrees with some southwesterly winds reaching up to 10 mph cooling the perspiration on our collective brows. Overnight the clouds will dissipate and we’ll give the ACs a short break as the low reaches all the way ‘down’ to 78.

Tuesday we’ll get up to 100 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Later in the afternoon we’ll get a bump in the cloud coverage, but it’ll be brief. The pressure will rise overnight and bring us clear skies and steadily increasing temps from the low of 77.

Wednesday we’ll be firmly back in the 100s for our high, about three degrees higher than the day before. But around lunchtime the clouds will start to make a reappearance and might – just might – bring some precipitation with them. The clouds and rain chances will keep increasing as evening segues into night.

The screw turns on Thursday as we somehow manage to keep the high temperature in the double digits – 99 degrees – and thunderstorms roll in for the afternoon. The combo of heat and wet will most likely mess with any hairstyles you have – and encourage you to keep travel-size versions of your deodorant in a pocket – but the shift in the pattern will apparently start a slight cooling trend.

Friday will – relatively speaking – have an outright chilly high of ‘only’ 95 as the clouds and chances of rain stick around. The iffy pattern will hold, and by some major miracle just might work to keep temps under 100 for the foreseeable future.

Stay tuned on Friday as we bring you Woodlands Weekend Weather.
