THE WOODLANDS, TX – All week long, our high temps will break the 100 mark; add to that the humidity and the resulting ‘feels-like’ highs could get downright dangerous.

Seems like the century-mark temps will stick around through the end of the month

Today we’re destined to already reach 101 with a heat index of 107 by four this afternoon. The partly cloudy skies we’ll be ‘enjoying’ today will clear up by this evening. Ironically, our overnight low of 78 (feeling like 84) won’t happen until 7 o’clock tomorrow morning, which means Tuesday is shaping up to be another scorcher.

The humidity will make the Tuesday high feel like 108, so we here at Woodlands Online strongly encourage you to stay indoors if you can and wear hats and sunscreen if you can’t. Be sure to add a glass of water with every caffeinated drink you have; because it’s easy to think that the spiking winds that day are making things cooler than they truly are. Once again, our overnight low that feels like 84 won’t reach that temp until 7:00 Wednesday morning.

Wednesday will be the hump day of highs with a weeklong maximum temperature of 103 that’ll feel like 109. Your lawns will by this point be threatening to shrivel up, so keep an eye on any water restrictions and irrigate them as you can. This might also be a good week to replace your manual thermostat with a programmable one, as left to its own devices your AC will be running 24/7.

The only difference between Thursday and the days preceding it is the returning cloud cover. While that might give you a break from sunburn, it won’t lower the temperature one whit, only one degree from the day before, but a humidity count that will again make it feel like 108.

Friday will have clearer, mostly sunny skies and a high temperature a degree lower than Thursday’s, and the heat index will positively be a ‘balmy’ 106, helped a bit by increasing winds in the evening. Without harping too much on the temps, it should be noted that every day this week will end at midnight still in the 90s. And we’re looking at much of the same for the weekend.

Stay tuned on Friday as we bring you Woodlands Weekend Weather.
