THE WOODLANDS, TX – Slowly but surely, bit by bit, the temperatures are coming down and the rain clouds are forming and summer is winding down. We’re not in any new seasons by any stretch of the imagination, but change is in the air, if only by a couple of degrees.

There’s an upcoming wetness in the air

As our Friday progresses, the chances of isolated thunderstorms increase, with clouds swiftly moving in and staying for pretty much the entire weekend. The rain chances will peak in the later afternoon but the clouds will stay right where they are, thanks to rapidly diminishing winds. We’ll ‘only’ hit a high of 97 today but the humidity will make it feel like 105. While the overnight low of 76 will offer scant reprieve on our air conditioners, it looks like the evening weather will play nice enough for you to head out to Northshore Park for The Woodlands Township’s Sunset Cinema event featuring an outdoor presentation of Clifford The Big Red Dog.

Saturday morning will ‘dawn’ – we say that euphemistically due to the near-total cloud coverage – with lesser chances of precipitation. The winds will return from southerly regions, keeping the air damp. The partly cloudy skies will keep the temps in the mid 90s for the high and mid 70s for the low. If the outdoor clouds threaten to dampen your mood, why now hit the Lone Star Exhibition Center for the High Caliber Gun & Knife Show?

On Sunday, the clouds will finally meander away as the day progresses, leading to mostly sunny skies and a high in the upper 90s. But this better weather might only be a brief respite, as it looks like there may be some more thunderclouds forming over the next week. If you want to find some inner peace in this calm between the storms, we suggest that you consider having brunch at The Federal American Grill and partake of their special Camp Hope menu that benefits veterans in need.
