WOODLANDS WEATHER THIS WEEK – It’s a rain again, hallelujah

THE WOODLANDS, TX – With the end of summer just over a month away and the school year starting for many this week. It seems that the weather doesn’t quite know what to do with itself. This appears to be leading us to an on-again / off-again few days of rain.

The temperature, winds, and humidity are all skyrocketing right now even as the pressure plummets. Our increasing cloud cover will crescendo mid-afternoon with some possible isolated thunderstorms. Fortunately, the confluence of climate will keep the high temperature in the upper 90s, with the caveat that the humidity will make it feel like 105. But by the time afternoon segues into evening, the chances of rain, the coverage of cloud, the blowage of wind, and the digits on the thermometer will all come down. We’ll settle into a nighttime low in the mid 70s.

Tuesday will be the epitome of moderate weather. No rain in the forecast with partly cloudy skies, rising winds, and the chance of some brief afternoon rain will keep temps in the mid 90s and a nice opportunity to enjoy the outdoors.

As Tuesday rolls over into Wednesday, we’ll have some encroaching cloud cover that will probably culminate in afternoon thunderstorms and a significant, steady drop in temperature. The motif will remain overnight and through Thursday, as scattered thunderstorms will keep the high around only 91. Ironically, the cloud cover will keep the low about normal, in the mid to lower 70s.

Friday will look like more of the same, with isolated thunderstorms vying for dominance with peekaboo sunny skies as the high temperature hovers in the low 90s. The damp weather might hang around into the early part of the weekend, but it seems like things might look a bit brighter for next week.
