THE WOODLANDS, TX – Summer is slowly but surely segueing into autumn, and the weather is showing it. Like a climate-based yoyo, now two consecutive days will be alike this week.

Who needs consistency?

Today the temps will only get up to around 85 (with the humidity adding about 10 degrees to the ‘feels-like’ temperature). After lunch we’ll have a couple of spikes of thunderstorms that will wind down shortly after sunset – not that you’d be able to fully enjoy it due to the extensive cloud cover. Overnight will be cloudy with some sporadic rumbling and a low of 75.

Tuesday will feel wet as thunderstorms and clouds blot out the sun pretty much the entire day. The 97-percent humidity will make you feel like you’re in a sauna even though the high temperature won’t break 90. Later that night, the clouds will remain but the storms will abate and pretty much disappear and you can enjoy a low around 73.

Wednesday will be more bark than bite with mostly cloudy skies and only a small chance of rain. The temps will creep back over the 90 degree mark, but the near-total humidity will make it feel like 101.

Overnight into Thursday, the clouds will remain and the chances of rain will increase into a day of scattered thunderstorms. After three o’clock in the afternoon, the temps will head back down into the 80s. The evening will dry up for the most part.

On Friday, we’re back to mostly sunny skies (aka ‘partly cloudy’) where it should stay a lot drier (and steamier, thanks to the returning sunlight), but the high will only hit 92. Enjoy it while you can, because that just might be some more thunder rumbling on the weekend horizon…

Stay tuned on Friday as we bring you Woodlands Weekend Weather.
