THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Howard Hughes Corporation® (NYSE: HHC) is pleased to announce its Houston-area master planned communities of The Woodlands Hills® and Bridgeland® will launch their annual Fall Giving Drive on September 1. For each new home sold at these award-winning communities during the month of September, Howard Hughes will make a donation on behalf of the buyer to a select charity of their choice, providing new homebuyers the opportunity to make a positive impact in the Greater Houston region, building on last year’s donation of over $85,000.

This year, the company will donate $500 to one of the following charities on behalf of homebuyers during the Fall Giving Drive: Montgomery County Food Bank, YES to YOUTH and Cy-Fair Educational Foundation. Since its inception, Howard Hughes has been an active philanthropist, contributing and volunteering to over 180 charitable causes in the Houston region annually as part of its corporate social responsibility program HHCares, founded on a commitment to community-focused philanthropy, including financial donations, civic engagement and volunteerism.

“Our annual Fall Giving Drive exemplifies the commitment of our HHCares program to supporting nonprofit organizations that are transforming lives in the areas surrounding our communities,” said Steve Sams, Senior Vice President, MPC Residential for The Howard Hughes Corporation.

Many of Howard Hughes’ builder partners, including Coventry Homes, David Weekley Homes, Highland Homes, M/I Homes, Taylor Morrison and Westin Homes have chosen to contribute to the Fall Giving Drive by making a donation that will be split between the charities. This year’s participating charities will include:

The Montgomery County Food Bank has a mission to unite the community to fight hunger, providing over 9.6 million nutritional meals last year to a network of over 70 partner pantries, local school districts and community partners. They provide solutions for pressing issues like food waste through their green initiative's program, which operates a Produce Rescue Center allowing fresh fruits and vegetables to be distributed to partnered organizations like the Houston Food Bank, Feeding Texas and Feeding America.

YES to YOUTH - Montgomery County Youth Services started 42 years ago to help and strengthen the emotional and mental health development of abused, battered, sex-trafficked, homeless and at-risk youth and families. Yes to Youth offers several services to aid in crisis intervention, counseling and suicide prevention services to the nearly 3,000 clients they’ve served, thus giving youth and families access to safe and nurturing homes where they can begin healing for the past and become empowered for the future.

The Cy-Fair Educational Foundation (CFEF) provides opportunities to graduating seniors of Cy-Fair ISD through the provision of higher education scholarships and staff development programs. CFEF has been empowering leaders of tomorrow through higher education since it was founded in 1970. Their initiative has since provided over $11 million in scholarships to over 2,300 Cy-Fair ISD students, and $3.6 million to staff development programs.
