THE WOODLANDS, TX – Summer is barely hanging on by a thread, temperature wise, and hopefully this will be our last week with temps that break into the 90s. There IS, however, a general trend to get a little cooler and a little cloudier, so hope springs eternal.

Varying temps, winds, and cloud cover will make for an interesting weekend

Today later in the afternoon we’ll hit our high of 91 right as the cloud cover reaches maximum, and then shortly thereafter both temperatures and clouds will lessen. We should be in the 70s before bedtime, and our overnight low will hover in the mid 60s. Since the weather won’t scare you, how about getting those flight-or-fight endorphins kicked up at The Haunting at Bear Branch - Panic Room haunted house?

Saturday will see partly cloudy skies all day as temperatures creep up to 90. Heavier winds from the northeast will make it feel cooler even as the cloud coverage steadily decreases throughout the afternoon. The resulting starry night will find a low of 60. What a great opportunity to catch the opening weekend of The Texas Renaissance Festival and its Oktoberfest days!

On Sunday, it’ll be cooler and brighter; very few clouds and a high temp in the upper 80s. An afternoon spike in cloud coverage won’t affect things too much, and we can enjoy an overnight low in the 50s. Perfect outdoor weather made even more perfect by catching Stevie Nicks at The Pavilion.

And although next week might dawn nicely, there might be some wetness in the midweek forecast…

Stay tuned for weather updates from Woodlands Online, and be sure to check us out on Monday for our “Week Ahead” forecast.
