Schools Can’t Force Vaccines On Kids. Rep. Toth Demands the Texas Department of State Health Services to Rescind Vaccine Mandates for Public Schools.
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Schools Can’t Force Vaccines On Kids. Rep. Toth Demands the Texas Department of State Health Services to Rescind Vaccine Mandates for Public Schools.
Dear Dr. Shuford:
I write as a lawmaker representing the ninth largest school district in the state of Texas. I am shocked by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) recent decision. By adding the Covid-19 vaccine to the “Child and Adolescent Immunization Schedule,” they are meddling with malpractice.
Our school children will now be encouraged to receive the Covid-19 vaccine. But children have a near zero risk of death from Covid-19. I want to make it clear: Texas will not be forced to follow this recommendation. We are under no obligation to do so.
Doctor, you are well aware that this recommendation has been made without clinical trial data and no evidence of efficacy in children.
My colleagues and I in the Texas House will oppose this attempt to play doctor by unelected bureaucrats. We will introduce legislation to publicly reject this anti-scientific attempt to mandate Covid-19 vaccines on our school children.
Further, I ask for the Department of State Health Services to publicly rescind the statement from October 20 asking schools to comply with “CDC recommendations.”
Sincerely,
Rep. Steve Toth
