THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The College Park Cavaliers hosted the Conroe Tigers in a must win matchup on College Park’s home court. Conroe has already secured their 3rd place spot in the playoffs and is trying to add to their win column. College Park needs to win this to secure a 4th place spot to head to playoffs with Grand Oaks, The Woodlands and Conroe.

As set one began, Coach Candice Collins Gibson with College Park could be heard repeating to the server “Take a deep breath.” Knowing this is a must win game College Park needed to calm their nerves as Conroe took an early lead. Although down, the Cavaliers were not out as they attempted to come back from a huge deficit. Unfortunately, it was too late but they chipped away at the lead to make it 25-18 in set one.

Going into set two, College Park seemed more put together than the beginning of set one. They seemed to have calmed their nerves and brought the momentum back to their side. Conroe on the other hand proved why they will be going to the playoffs as they tightened their defense and attacked on offense.

It was another close set as Conroe once again would take the lead as College Park chased. And again, College Park would close the gap in the end making for an exciting ending to the second set, 25-21.

The third and final set was another exciting battle against the two. It would go point for point as Emma Malak with Conroe would make some incredible defensive digs to keep the rallies going. Ariana Brown would also flex her arm strength and capitalize on some spikes from well-placed sets.

Conroe would knock College Park out of playoff contention as they await the results from the Willis vs Oak Ridge game being played at the same time. Willis is also in a must win situation and will force a tie breaker if they were to win against Oak Ridge.
