THE WOODLANDS, TX – If you woke up this morning to wet lawns and water dripping from your eaves, grab your umbrellas because there’s more to come.

Wet, dreary, and cold… and wonderful!

As Friday progresses, we’re going to have a spike in rain that’ll hit right around lunchtime. The chances of rain will go from near-100 percent to half a chance as the afternoon progresses, but have no doubt it’ll be wet for most of us. The temperatures will struggle to stay in the 60s and will finally get down into the mid 50s late tonight. If you want to avoid heading into downtown Houston and instead enjoy catching Game One of the World Series tonight on television instead, try one of our local watch parties, maybe at The Red Brick Tavern or Sawyer Park Ice House.

The near-complete cloud cover will stay with us overnight and well into Saturday. That early afternoon, the winds will kick up and blow some of the clouds on their merry, dark way as slight chances of showers linger. We’ll have another high in the mid 60s and low about 10 degrees cooler, definite autumn air. In a murder mystery, this would be perfect killing weather, so why not dive in and hit the Celebrity Murder Mystery Dinner at The Glade Arts Foundation?

Sunday will get a respite from the wind, clouds, and precipitation, sort of. Cloud coverage will hover around 50 percent as the temps warm up into the mid 70s. In the early afternoon, however, the mercury will drop like a dive-bombing pigeon and we’ll end up with an overnight low in the 40s, so grab those blankets and packages of instant hot cocoa to see you through the night. Since the holidays will be in the air, why not beat the rush by grabbing a new, unopened toy and heading to the official Toys for Tots drop-off location at The Adventure Begins?

As Monday approaches, we’ll maintain the coolness and clouds for a while, along with the chance of just enough rain to smear your windshield and make the roads slick, so let’s be careful out there…

Stay tuned for weather updates from Woodlands Online, and be sure to check us out on Monday for our “Week Ahead” forecast.
