THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Just after noon today The Woodlands Fire Department was dispatched to 1950 Hughes Landing, One Lakes Edge Apartments, for a reported structure fire. Multiple 911 callers reported fire and smoke coming from an exterior 4th floor balcony. Batt 101, Engine 101 and Truck 101 arrived first and reported a working fire. Firefighters accessed the apartment balcony by ladder and extinguished the fire, confining the damage to the balcony. Fire cause was accidental, a candle ignited a wicker chair. TWFD was assisted by Montgomery County Hospital District, South Montgomery County Fire Department, Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and Montgomery County Fire Marshal's Office.
