THE WOODLANDS, TX – Mike Painter, the chief executive officer of New Danville, has a special holiday message for The Woodlands area community.

“This holiday season, our hearts are filled with gratitude for those who support New Danville and the incredible adults we serve,” he said, “For twenty years, your generosity has helped create a community where individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities can live, learn, work, and grow – and where joy shines brightly every day.”

Founded in 2005, New Danville serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and those needing similar services, in a rural environment promoting dignity, respect, and the opportunity to live enriched and purposeful lives.

The organization’s day program and residential community were developed to empower and maximize personal independence by offering learning opportunities that reinforce personal growth and freedom of choice. Programs include independent residential living, day programs, and the JOBS program, where some participants can become employees of New Danville.

Additionally, Jazzy Junque (& other great stuff) is an extension of New Danville in the form of a boutique and home furnishings outlet. Although now a permanent storefront benefiting New Danville, Jazzy Junque (& other great stuff) began as an annual sale to raise matching funds for a grant received to help build Meadowbrook, the first neighborhood at New Danville. After four successful annual sales, it was decided to open a full-time storefront at The Outlets at Conroe with proceeds benefiting the numerous programs at New Danville. This permanent location also offers job opportunities for Wranglers as well as a source to showcase and sell the numerous items they produce.

Such dedication to special needs adults requires resources, and New Danville could use financial donations especially as the year draws to an end and annual grants based on the calendar year grow thin with their disbursements. The New Danville Holiday Giving program has options for generous philanthropists and other members of the community to bestow a one-time financial gift, a monthly gift, or to shop at Jazzy Junque; they can even use their donations to be advocates for New Danville. Gifts also come in the form of donating your time as a volunteer.

“As we count our blessings and celebrate this season of giving, please continue to join us in sharing the gift of joy. Whether through volunteering, donations, or advocacy, your support helps brighten lives and build a future filled with opportunity and belonging," said Painter.
