THE WOODLANDS, TX -- In February 2026, Constable Ryan Gable’s patrol deputies received a report from a local business regarding a former employee suspected of misappropriating company funds. Detectives assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division initiated a lengthy investigation that included a detailed review of financial records.

The investigation revealed that over a two-year period, the former employee allegedly deposited company-issued checks into her personal bank account, totaling more than $460,000.00. Further analysis indicated the funds were used to purchase luxury clothing, high-end jewelry, expensive dining experiences, international travel, and other high-value items.

On June 8, 2026, Heather Surratt was taken into custody at her residence in Harris County, Texas, by Precinct 3 detectives. Surratt was charged with First-Degree Felony Theft of Property over $300,000. Surratt was transported to the Montgomery County Jail, where she was booked without incident.

This case remains under investigation.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
