Ramsey, the lead woodturner, has worked at Natural Olivewood for five years. Ramsey works at the lathe, a machine which makes all of the bowls as well as all other round items. After the raw olive tree branches are cut into small squares, Ramsey uses the lathe to turn the bowl at a very high speed. Using nothing but his tools and a careful eye, he chips away at the square block, turning it into a smooth round bowl. This process takes many years of practice to carefully master the art of carving a bowl. 

The Grace Case order generated 600-800 hours of dignified work for a team of five artisans.
