THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Woodlands Township has changed its regular monthly meeting time from 7:30 a.m. to a 9 a.m. and appointed a new member to it’s executive committee. By a vote of six to three, the board voted to move the meetings to 9 a.m.; in contrast to requests from all seven village associations to move the meetings to the evening.

Meetings held by the Community Associations of The Woodlands have traditionally been held at 7 p.m. to allow greater access for residents to attend. The vote comes after a lengthy three month plea from residents requesting more access to the public.

The Township Board's regular meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of the month and executive committee meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month at 7:30 a.m.

The board also approved having a video of all meetings available online at its Web site and that backup information on agenda items would be made available to the public prior to meetings. Furthermore, the board approved adding a public comment period to executive committee and special meetings.

The board voted to add Bruce Tough to the executive committee as Second Vice Chairman. Tough's selection required the board to change a township policy that calls for an executive committee member to serve on the board for at least one year, Tough was named to the board in May.

The Woodlands Township Board's next monthly meeting will be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, September 24, at The Woodlands Township located at: 10001 Woodloch Forest Drive, Suite 600.
