THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The economy has hit hard when it comes to providing a gift from Santa under the tree for some Montgomery County residents. Montgomery County United Way has connected volunteers with fifty families this Christmas to provide gifts to 151 children.

Organizations volunteering for the MCUW families that were not assisted by other organizations were: The Gallup Consulting Group, Amazing Spaces, Green Bank, Coldstone Creamery, Hemline, Johnny Rockets, The Olive Garden, ALPC – grounds crew – Market Street, La Madeleine and Cheesecake Factory. Woodlands United Methodist Church adopted several families as well as individuals Debbie Cox and Kristin Falcon.

Montgomery County United Way staff donated gifts to a needy family instead of sharing with each other for Christmas. The staff adopted a family that had recently lost their home due to a fire.
