The Woodlands High School football team remained at No. 9 in the latest AP high school football poll.

The Woodlands improved to 2-0 for the season after subduing Hightower 46-39 in double-overtime on Friday at Woodforest Stadium.

There was no change from last week in the top nine places. Euless Trinity remained No. 1 followed in order by Abilene, Katy, Stony Point, Allen, Cinco Ranch, Beaumont West Brook and DeSoto.

District 14-5A foe Lufkin (2-0) moved in at No. 10. Houston area schools Klein Collins, No. 16, and Clear Springs, No. 17, also made the list.

College Park, which lost its season opener but still got ranked in the top 20, defeated Huntsville to even its record at 1-1 and was promptly dropped out of the top 20.
