The Woodlands girls attack Atascocita
THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The Woodlands High School girls’ basketball team showed District 14-5A which team is best on Tuesday. The No. 14 state-ranked Lady Highlanders ran past Atascocita 77-45 at home.
Anna Strickland and Paige Bradley each turned in double-doubles as The Woodlands (26-2, 9-0) grabbed firm hold of first place in the district race. Strickland scored 16 points and pulled down 13 rebounds while Bradley added 10 points and 11 assists.
Kelsey Lang contributed 14 points to go along with seven rebounds and three blocked shots and Maghen Lormand scored in double figures with 13 points. Ashlyn Hargraves and Kori Dyer scored nine points each.
Atascocita’s Curtyce Knox, a McDonald’s All-American nominee, scored 16 points to pace the Lady Eagles.
College Park went to Oak Ridge on Tuesday and came away with a 54-45 victory. Alexia Sanders led the Lady Cavaliers with 20 points while Chantel Franco paced Oak Ridge with 12 points.
