Baseball: The Woodlands heads into 14-5A play undefeated

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The College Park High School baseball team finished up the Wings ‘n More Classic it hosted on Saturday, while The Woodlands High School baseball team remained undefeated for the 2013 season by blanking Cy-Lakes 4-0 on the road Saturday.

College Park completes Wings 'n More Classic


The College Park Cavaliers dropped a 9-3 decision to Katy Seven Lakes on Saturday to conclude tournament play. David Ellingson tripled and drove in a run while Tyler Vaughan (RBI) and Tyler Mortensen each added doubles. Jeff Sitarski also drove in a run.

College Park (7-10) opens District 14-5A play at 7 p.m. Thursday when it hosts Oak Ridge (9-6) at The Diamonds at College Park.

Carter Hope worked six innings and Blaine Gillespie finished up in combining on the four-hit shutout for the Highlanders (13-0) over Cy-Lakes. The Woodlands made the most of their three hits. Chris Andritsos and Alex Dunlap both doubled while Josh Shaw singled and drove in a run. Josh Pruitt and Kolbi Brown added an RBI each.

The Highlanders open District 14-5A play at 6 p.m. Tuesday when they host Lufkin at Scotland Yard.
