THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Carter Hope handcuffed Bryan on two hits over six innings and Chris Andritsos blasted two homers as The Woodlands High School baseball team remained unbeaten for the 2013 season with a 9-0 win over Bryan on Friday at Scotland Yard.

Three College Park pitchers combine on 1-hitter over Conroe

Carter went six innings, striking out eight while not allowing a Vikings runner past second base. The Highlanders (15-0, 3-0), ranked No. 1 in the nation by USA Today, got a pair of solo homers from Andritsos and a two-run blast from Luke Sherley.

Hope helped his cause with a first-inning, two-run double, chasing home Sherley and Alex Dunlap, to give the Highlanders a 2-0 lead.

Bryan put runners on first and second to start the second inning but Hope struck out the next three batters to end the threat. He recorded six strikeouts through two innings.

Andritsos went the other way for an oppositie-field solo homer in the third inning, increasing the Highlanders’ lead to 3-0. But they weren’t finished. Josh Shaw singled home Dunlap and the advantage grew to 4-0 after three innings.

Charlie Warren scored on single by Dunlap as the Highlanders rallied after two outs in the fourth inning to make it 5-0.

Shaw delivered his second hit of the game, a single, to open the fifth inning. He was bunted over to second by Hillin Warren, moved to third on a single by Kolbi Brown, and scored on a squeeze bunt from Brandon Manger.

Sherley followed with his two-run homer over the right-field fence to make it 8-0 Highlanders and Andritsos belted a lead-off homer in the sixth to cap the scoring.

Brandon Miles worked a perfect seventh inning on the mound to close it out.

College Park 12 Conroe 0
