Nasta wins SPC South Zone

Pedro Nasta won the boys’ Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC) South Zone Cross Country Championships and led The John Cooper School boys’ cross country team to a second-place finish in the team standings. The Lady Dragons finished sixth in the girls’ division.

Nasta was first across the finish line with a time of 16 minutes, 4.1 seconds and will lead the team as it heads to the SPC Championships on Nov. 9 at Trinity Valley School in Fort Worth.

Nasta was followed by Dragons teammates Jacob Steltor, who finish 10th in a time of 17:06.4, Derek Tam, 11th in 17:07.1, Jonathan Goodridge, 21st in 17:21.8, and Cody Bohan, 23rd in 17:26.5.

Kylie Melodick, 14th in 21:12.1, led the Cooper girls’ squad. Nina Rivela, 26th in 21:56.3, Sonya Bhatia, 31st in 22:18.9, Natalie Sos, 42nd in 23:25.6, and BellaEvans, 45th in 23:35.6, followed in order.
