Webster goal stands in TWHS victory

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Carmen Webster scored a goal late in the match and The Woodlands High School girls’ soccer team blanked San Antonio O’Connor, 1-0, Friday at Woodforest Stadium.

Webster broke the scoreless tie to give The Woodlands its first victory in the Lady Highlanders Invitational, which concludes Saturday. The Woodlands dropped a 2-1 decision to Klein on Thursday.

In other Lady Highlanders Invitational matches, Oak Ridge earned a 2-1 victory over Cy-Woods. Sydney Vincent and Alyssa Smith scored goals for the Lady War Eagles, who conclude on Saturday with Vista Ridge at 11 a.m. at Bear Branch Sports Fields.

In addition, College Park dropped a 1-0 decision to Cinco Ranch.

At the Kilt Cup, The Woodlands High School boys’ soccer team claimed a 3-1 victory over San Antonio Clark. The Highlanders’ 8 a.m. match with Duncanville has been cancelled.
