CONROE, Texas - The Oak Ridge boys basketball team has been consistently inconsistent, as they have split each of their last 16 games. The War Eagles were looking to get back to their winning ways, hosting Bryan in the WOL Sports Game of the Week.

Oak Ridge (16-10, 3-4) took a 48-46 lead with a Josh Caldwell lay-up with 1:21 left in the fourth quarter. The War Eagles sealed the win with free throws by Cameron Prejean and Josh Caldwell. The win stops a two-game district losing streak for Oak Ridge.

Senior Trumaine Jefferson led the way for Oak Ridge scoring 18 points, while Josh Caldwell scored 16.

Bryan (10-12, 3-5) used a delay strategy in each of their first three possessions in the fourth quarter where the Vikings held the ball for at least 2:00 before running a set offense play. The strategy backfired as Bryan missed a shot, got a lay-up and turned the ball over in those three possessions.

The game went back-and-forth in the third quarter as the lead changed hands six times. The teams entered the fourth quarter tied 43-43. There was another three lead changes in the fourth quarter, as Oak Ridge scored the game's final six points.

The War Eagles will now travel to take on the first-place College Park Cavaliers on Friday, January 24, at 7:00 p.m..
