OAK RIDGE NORTH, Texas - Beth Ashley and the A&M Consolidated Lady Tigers were rude visitors in putting a damper on Oak Ridge Senior Night with a convincing 51-28 victory Tuesday over the Lady War Eagles.

Ashley led all scorers and rebounders with 15 and six respectively as the visitors were never threatened leading from buzzer to buzzer. Oak Ridge kept up with A&M Consol on the glass grabbing 20 to the Lady Tigers 23 but Oak Ridge could never get untracked in the shooting department hitting a dismal 23% from the field.

A&M led after one quarter of play, 13-4, but came out guns blazing in the second stanza with Ashley and LuLu McKinney combining for 12 points giving the Lady Tigers a commanding halftime lead, 28-11.

Oak Ridge showed signs of life early in the second half when Cameron Boren drained a three-ball and Kelsey Scibek earned a three-point play the old fashioned way bringing the Lady War Eagles to within 14 at 34-20.

The celebration was short lived though as A&M's Alexis Oaks answered back with a three-point play of her own to conclude all scoring in the third quarter with Consol up 37-20.

A&M Consol head coach, Karen Heintz talked about the upcoming playoff picture after the game. Both A&M and The Woodlands tied for first place with identical 11-1 District 14-5A records.

"That makes The Woodlands and us co-champions and we flip to see who plays 13-5A's Kingwood or Klein Forest in the first round. Whoever loses the flip would play Klein Forest and the winner plays Kingwood.

“Our girls compete and play hard and I'm very proud with how they played tonight and throughout the season."

Oaks scored 12 and McKinney had 10 to lead Consol's scoring while Raquel Kellow, Scibek and Boren led Oak Ridge with six each.
