Highlanders improve to 6-0 in district

The War Eagles would take an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on a Joey Barrile single. The Highlanders respond in the top of the second inning with four runs with two-outs as Ben Gooch singled tying the game 1-1, then Luke Sherely and Chris Andritsos go back-to-back doubles, giving the Highlanders a 4-1 lead in the top of the second.

Joey Barrile then hits a double to the gap in center another War Eagle RBI and Oak Ridge has a 6-4 lead.

Highlanders find their rhythm in the top of the fourth when Max Conway singles, Gooch walks, then Luke Shereley walks to load the bases for Chris Andritsos. Chris absolutely tattoo’s this one to left-center it’s a grand slam home run and just like that the Highlanders retake the lead, 8-6 in the top of the fourth inning.

Andritsos settled down on the mound as Oak Ridge couldn’t piece together the base hits to rally again.

The Highlanders add another run in the top of the seventh inning off an error to make the game 9-6 and that’s your final as the Highlanders remain undefeated in district play with a 9-6 win over Oak Ridge.
