CONROE, Texas – Peyton Hutchens fired a three-hitter on Friday, striking out five, and three different players contributed three hits apiece as the College Park High School softball team went on the road for a 9-2 win over the Conroe Tigerettes.

Hutchens yielded only single markers in the fourth and seventh innings while Ally Holland, Chelsea Dowell and Julie French came up with three hits apiece to pace the Lady Cavaliers’ 12-hit attack.

The win lifted College Park to 15-4 overall and 5-3 in District 14-5A play. The Lady Cavaliers continue their run towards the playoffs when they host A&M Consolidated at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. It’s one of four big district games still left on the 2014 regular season schedule.

College Park still has a huge road game with Lufkin at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 11, before finishing up with The Woodlands and Bryan. The Lady Cavaliers have a firm hold on fourth place in the league standings with the top four teams from each district advancing to the playoffs.

Holland drove in four runs on Friday to help move College Park one step closer to a potential postseason berth. Hutchens also drove in a run.

College Park struck for three runs in the third inning to break a scoreless tie and then put the game out of reach with a five-run sixth inning.
