THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Location, location, location, and you can’t get a better location for a Chick-fil-A restaurant then right outside the front door of one of the largest high schools in the county.

Chick-fil-A announced the opening of its newest location at 3425 College Park Drive, Wednesday, August 6, just north of College Park High School. No doubt the opening was scheduled to beat the start of the school season, ensuring a bumper crop this fall.

The grand opening included all the energy and premiums that Chick-fil-A has become known for, and that typically accompany the opening of one of its restaurants. The first one hundred to visit the restaurant will receive free Chick-fil-A for a year, so no doubt the parking lot looked like a giant ‘sleep over.’ First to pitch a tent was Racael Monroe Williams of Spring, Texas.

“I got here last night at eleven o’clock, and was the first one here,” said Williams.

Due to a lottery system, Williams didn’t wind up first in line, but was among some of the first to visit the new location and receive Chick-fil-A for a year.

Williams said she didn’t mind braving the elements...heat, humidity, and mosquitoes.

“I love Chick-fil-A. I love their food, and they’re a Christian-based organization,” she added.

Those not able to wait in line for their Chick-fil-A ‘fix,’ migrated west to the Alden Bridge location.

“We were happy to get the spill-over,” said Manager, Ryan Ray. “Actually, we all work together at the different Chick-fil-A restaurants. I’ll be pitching in and helping out at their grand opening tomorrow.”

The grand opening festivities will continue on through Thursday, August 7, until the restaurant closes for the evening at 10:00 p.m.

“The owner, Casey Hughes, is a great guy. He was an officer in the Navy, and played football at their academy,” said Ray. “We want to help him get off to a great start with his new restaurant.”

Given the site of the new location, Hughes won’t have to worry about the restaurant’s success. As the saying goes…”Build it and they will come.” And that they did this morning at Chick-fil-A’s newest location in The Woodlands.
