CONROE, Texas - Addison Moss’ two-RBI double to center field in the first inning helped the Oak Ridge War Eagles build a 4-0 lead, en route to a 5-2 district home win over Conroe on Friday afternoon.

Oak Ridge (10-1, 2-0) scored two more runs in the bottom of the third, one off of a Tiger throwing error and one off of a Zach Rollins sac-fly that scored Bryce Foley. The War Eagles took advantage of some key opportunities, however stranded eight runners on base for the game.

Conroe tried to rally in the top of the fourth inning with a solo home run, however Oak Ridge countered in the bottom of the fourth when Riley McKnight scored on a pass ball.

The War Eagles got a solid starting pitching performance from Durbin Feltman, who went 5 1/3-innings, scattering six hits, two earned runs to go along with eight strikeouts.

The game was moved up to a 12pm start due to the threat of rain on Friday evening.

Oak Ridge continues district play at Atascocita on Tuesday, March 24, at 7pm.
