THE WOODLANDS, Texas - The hottest way to increase athletic performance, reduce pain, and rejuvenate the body is by chilling out with the latest technology … cryotherapy. The recently-opened studio Sports Cryotherapy of The Woodlands offers this popular extreme cold therapy, which treats the whole body holistically and non-invasively.

Located just north of the Alden Bridge Shopping Center at 8101 Kuykendahl in suite 300, owners Rod Gold and his wife Shawna Romero, who are long-time residents of The Woodlands, opened the state-of-the-art facility to serve the athletic and health-minded community of The Woodlands and beyond.

Originally developed to ease the ailments of arthritis, it was soon discovered that cryotherapy also helps reduce muscle soreness and inflammation. In just three minutes, whole body cryotherapy triggers the brain to activate its natural healing process by lowering the body’s core temperature. Performed in a cryo sauna, the process turns nitrogen into a gas form that initiates the flush of toxins throughout the entire body and, best of all, burns up to 800 calories per chill.

“This is truly something that you have to experience to appreciate the benefits,” explains Romero. “My husband Rod and I encourage local residents to stop by and tour our studio and ask about the benefits of cryotherapy.”

Gold added, “We are long-time residents of The Woodlands and are very excited to have already received friends and neighbors as clients, and look forward to building our clientele among those who seek to look, feel and perform their best. From tri-athletes to golfers to chronic pain sufferers and folks who simply want to improve their health, we are here to be part of everyone’s overall wellness plan.”

Other benefits reported are a re-booting of the metabolism, increase of energy, improvement of skin and nail quality, alleviation of insomnia and migraines, and release of advance levels of adrenaline and endorphins.

Sports Cryotherapy of The Woodlands is open for clients Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
