The Woodlands, TX -- School can be an intimidating place to begin with, but imagine not being able to comprehend what you are being taught. For many children who are struggling with a learning disability this is a reality. Without help to overcome this problem, depression, anxiety, and hopelessness can diminish one's education and alter their entire life.

Too often the problem is misdiagnosed as attention deficit disorder (ADD) or the child is labeled as unmotivated, lazy, or immature. However, a child's cognitive skills may just need extra work and strengthening to help them succeed and shed false labels.

Thousands of parents looking to find a solution for their struggling child have turned to the PACE and Master the Code programs, specially aimed at improving reading and comprehension skills.

Karen Felicidario, of The Woodlands Learning Center, is a licensed provider of the PACE (Processing and Cognitive Enhancement) program and Master the Code (MTC), a sound-to-code reading program modeled after the process by which spoken language is first learned.

After years of struggling with the learning difficulties of two of her own children, Felicidario learned of the PACE and MTC programs.

"The programs can help any age group improve their reading and comprehension skills. I know first-hand just how life changing these programs can be to a child with a learning roadblock. We tried several programs to overcome our children’s trouble reading. After seeing the results after a short time in the program it all seemed so simple, I was so overcome with joy I was in tears," said Felicidario.

After witnessing the incredible transformation in her children she knew she had to share it with other families and became a certified provider of the programs. Soon after her husband, Mark, also became certified and they have both been helping other children overcome reading and comprehension deficiencies.

Potential clients are given a free initial consultation and testing with a certified trainer, each student's strong and weak areas are identified and a training plan is devised to improve the deficient skills. The training program consists of an intensive 18 weeks with one-on-one sessions for 1-hour a day, three to five days a week. Sessions include games and skill building exercises designed to improve attention, auditory processing, logic and reasoning, memory, visual processing and speed, planning, and visualization.

"The program offers a permanent fix and we offer a money back guarantee that our clients will show improvement. We have never had to honor that guarantee because all of our students surpass our goals,” said Felicidario.

The Woodlands Learning Center offers flexible meeting arrangements by conducting lessons at a client’s home, school, day care, or at The Woodlands Learning Center. "We do as much as we can to accommodate individual needs and schedules," said Felicidario.

If your child or someone you know is having difficulty reading or learning, The Woodlands Learning Center can provide a positive, encouraging and challenging environment to help them achieve their highest potential.
