The Woodlands, TX -- Acclaimed art educator Mark Kistler, of public television’s “Mark Kistler’s Imagination Station,” will teach a weekly art class in The Woodlands. Children will have weekly art lessons progressing through a series of amazing pencil power adventures for an experience that children will never forget.

Mark Kistler has written 9 best-selling children’s how-to-draw books, starred in 3 children’s television series, and taught millions of children how to draw in over 18 countries! His web site has inspired over a million kids how to draw in 3-D.

Kistler recently held a summer art camp at The Woodlands United Methodist Church and the response was overwhelming. Over 100 families participated in the five day summer camp. Parents watched Kistler as "Commander Mark" of Public Television's "The Secret City" on Houston's KUHT-Channel 8 in the 1980's and 1990's. Now, a new generation of students has the opportunity to learn from nationally acclaimed art educator Mark Kistler in person!

Classes start on Saturday, October 20th from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM at the Woodlands United Methodist Church. Saturday classes will be offered through May of 2008. Each session features brand new lessons and great classic lessons created by Mark Kistler over the past 30 years of his teaching career. Your children will have the opportunity to vote on different exciting learn-to-draw in 3-D themes like “King Arthurs’ Camelot”, “The Great Undersea Adventure”, “Awesome Australian Animals”, “Dynamic Drooling Dinosaurs”, “Radical Robots of Planet Pluto”, “Mermaids of Mesopotamia”, “Space Hamsters”, “Furry Fat Cats”, “Unicorns and flying trolls”, “Multi-eyed Monsters”, “Planet of Penguins”, “Tree root city”, “Secret Cities”, “Underground Furbleville”, “Scrolls, Flags, and cool flapping banners”, “Tree’s, Flowers, Plants, and the bugs that RULE!”, “Ants wearing pants”, “Mighty Marshmallow Monsters”, “Awesome Australian Animals”, “King Tritton’s Undersea Towers”, “Big Bug-Eye Bugs”, “Penguins, Polar Bears and Ice Mice!” and many more.

“Learning how to draw in 3-D builds important creative thinking skills, powerful problem solving skills, and a solid foundation for future art success. Many of my students have gone on to become successful digital game designers and animators,” stated Kistler. His alumni students have resume projects including Shrek, Madagascar, Bugs’ Life, Toy Story, Marvel Comics, Leapfrog Toys, and more! In addition to weekly drawing workshops and summer camps, Kistler is available for school assemblies.
