THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- With crude oil prices hitting new record highs this week gas prices in most Texas cities followed suit.

According to AAA Texas's Weekend Gas Watch, the current Texas price per gallon average increased six cents to $3.16 a gallon, an all-time record high.

“Every Texas region surveyed set new record highs this week, with Amarillo being the only exception,” said AAA Texas spokesperson Rose Rougeau. “Texarkana is the only area that posted a decrease. However, with record crude oil prices pushing retail gas prices upward, it is unlikely that area will continue to move downward.”

San Antonio had the lowest average gas price on the list at $3.12 a gallon, up five cents from last week. Fort Worth had the highest average price at $3.17 a gallon, up nine cents from last week.

Average Daily Prices as of 12:01 a.m., Friday, March 14, 2008.
