Gas Prices Jump Up

HOUSTON, Texas -– Motorists in Texas and across the U.S. saw a big jump at the pumps this week due to record high gas prices.

According to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch, Fort Worth had the highest average gas prices in Texas this week at $3.489 a gallon – up 13 cents a gallon. San Antonio had the lowest at $3.41 a gallon – up 14 cents a gallon.

“All Texas regions surveyed this week set new record highs,” said AAA Texas spokesperson Rose Rougeau. “The statewide average of $3.47 a gallon is about 70 cents above last year’s average.”
