THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- A woman, 23, from Spring, was shot in the leg during an attempted carjacking near the J.C. Penney parking lot at The Woodlands Mall around 10:45 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 4.
According to Lt. Dan Norris of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, the victim was exiting her vehicle to apply for work at the mall when an armed black male attempted to steal her car. A struggle ensued and the woman was shot in the leg.
Police were able to locate and arrest Duvan Johnson, 20, at the Research Forest overpass at I-45.
The woman was taken to a local hospital and is reportedly doing well.
