Updated: Where to donate for residents affected by fires
THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Residents looking for a place to donate to those affected by wildfires can give to the following:
The Montgomery County Food Bank has setup several locations to drop off food donations for the next couple of weeks.
- Montgomery County Food Bank-111 S. 2nd Street, Conroe
- Grace Crossing Church of Christ- FM 1488 at I-45 North (across from Valero)
- 105 Storage-13921 Hwy 105 in Conroe
- HEB -Cleveland, Conroe, Spring and The Woodlands
- Kroger-Conroe, Porter, The Woodlands, Shenandoah and Magnolia
- Randall's in Conroe and The Woodlands
- Wal-Marts in Porter, Conroe, Montgomery, Spring, Tomball, and The Woodlands
A fund to help county residents affected by the fires has been set up by The United Way that will be distributed to local organizations to address needs identified through contacts made to the Montgomery County Emergency Operations Center and area non-profits. Over 8,000 calls have been logged according to the center thus far. To give a monetary donation, residents can contact MCUW at 281-292-4155 or 1-888-825-MCUW, ext. 235 or mail a check made payable to MCUW, P.O. Box 8965, The Woodlands, TX 77387. Be sure to include “Fire 2011” in the memo line.
