Milstead Automotive encourages you to Walk Like MADD this Saturday

THE WOODLANDS, Texas--The community is invited to MADD (Mother's Against Drunk Drivers) Southeast Texas’s annual 5K Walk Like MADD-The Woodlands on Saturday, October 6, at Northshore Park. Last year MADD raised approximately $10,000 which allowed the organization to help put an end to drunk driving as well as provide support at no cost to victims and survivors in Southeast Texas area.

"In 2010, there were 4,613 total DWI crashes, injuring 2,929 and killing 264 people in the Southeast Texas area," Amy Milstead said, President of Milstead Automotive and presenting sponsor for the event. "Supporting MADD can help save lives right here in our own community."

The MADD organization suggests four ways to provide assistance. One, would be to walk with the group Saturday, Oct 6. Second would be to run with the group for the 5K course. Third would be to become a virtual walker, registering to walk in spirit for the course and lastly, to make a donation. This year's goal is to raise $20,000 in order to continue to provide the programs and services to the community.
