TITLE Boxing Club...the alternative workout

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – “Hit me with your best shot.” But before uttering those words, you better learn to block it, or at least be conditioned to take it. You can do that at TITLE Boxing Club in the College Park Village Center, located at 3335 College Park Drive.

TITLE Boxing is not about fighting, but overall conditioning and fitness according to owner, John Daigh. Having previously owned a home health care business, the philosophy of total body health has been incorporated into the training programs. What differentiates TITLE Boxing from the contact sport's traditional approach is the company's core workout…the ‘Power Hour.’

“It’s a true boxer's workout,” said John Daigh, “but with the emphasis of getting and staying in shape.”

Led by certified personal trainers, the hour starts with a 15-minute cardio warm-up, followed by 30 minute fundamentals…punches, strikes, and combinations on a 120-pound punching bag in 3-minute rounds to simulate a match. In between the rounds are active, recovery exercises that include sit-ups, pushups, squats or lunges. The final 15-minute segment is spent doing core exercises like jumping rope or working with a medicine ball.

“Our personal trainers have the latitude to vary the workouts to keep them from becoming mundane,” said Daigh. “By mixing it up, members get maximum results without becoming bored from the same routines.”

If you think this kind of workout is just for the extreme athlete, think again. Currently enrolled in TITLE Boxing Club are students at all levels of fitness, and even some with extraordinary disabilities…Muscular Dystrophy, and one on dialysis.

“The trainers are very adept at making modifications to enable these students to meet their objectives, which is achieving a healthier lifestyle,” said Daigh. “It just works.”

Title Boxing Club offers personal, family, and corporate memberships. Gym memberships are customized to fit busy schedules, and includes access to all the boxing, kickboxing and MMA gear and exercise equipment during normal business hours. Personal training sessions are available for an additional fee.
