Fall fencing classes at Alliance Fencing Academy cater to all ages

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The beginning of the new school year is almost here. Alliance Fencing Academy offers fencing classes from the beginner to the advanced fencer. There are classes designed for all ages, skill levels, and time commitments.

For the beginning fencer, ages 8 and up whom would like to try the sport of fencing for the first time, instruction covers introduction to the sport, basic fencing techniques and bout learning. There are four classes; all equipment is provided. At the end of the course fencers are welcome to continue and choose a fencing training program meeting year round on a monthly basis.

For boys and girls just getting into fencing, ages 4-7, who love to “play with swords”, classes consist of stretching and coordination exercises, learning basic fencing rules and technique while using specially designed youth fencing gear. Equipment is furnished and classes meet once or twice a week.

Youth 8-14, Cadet Junior Classes are designed for intermediate and advanced fencers, who would like to continue to learn the sport of fencing and be competitive in local and national fencing events. Classes meet 3-5 times a week.

Home School fencing classes are for Woodlands parents who home school their children and are looking for a PE class. Over the past 10 years Alliance has developed nearly 30 home school fencers who have become national and international competitors. Many of these students have gone on to become NCAA Division I fencers at universities across the U.S. Classes are conducted at the Alliance Woodlands Fencing campus, meeting 1or 2 times a week.

Adult classes are exclusively designed for working adults and fencing parents who would like to learn fencing and stay in shape. Classes meet once or twice a week.

Private lessons with a coach are available for fencers who would like to improve their individual fencing technique. Individual teaching spots are available all year.
