THE WOODLANDS, Texas – It’s a first for The John Cooper School girls’ volleyball team. The Lady Dragons head to the Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC) championships, Nov. 8-9, in Fort Worth as first seed in Division I.

“We just finished our regular season with a 30-6 record and went 7- 0 in SPC conference matches, making us the first seed for the SPC South Zone heading into the SPC Conference Tournament this weekend,” said coach Jim “Smoki” Richardson.

“This is the third year in a row that we have made it into the Division I. It is the first time that we have earned the first seed going undefeated in conference play.”

Richardson said that while it’s been an incredible season so far, there is still work to be done.

“I am incredibly proud of the team and all they have worked for and accomplished this year,” he said. “However we still have one goal to achieve and that is to bring home a conference championship.

The Lady Dragons take on Holland Hall at 11 a.m. Friday in the SPC Championships opener.
