COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Woodlands High School baseball team took advantage of four A&M Consolidated errors to score three unearned runs, and Chris Andritsos tossed a complete-game three-hitter as the Highlanders took a 3-1 win over the Tigers.

Andritsos struck out seven and walked only three as The Woodlands improved to 15-3 overall and 2-0 in District 14-5A play with Thursday's road win.

Highlanders' lead-off hitter Mark Doerries had two of the team's five hits, all singles, and drove in a run. Andritsos added a hit and a pair of RBIs. Hillin Warren contributed with a hit and a run scored while Evan Samoff added a hit.

Luke Sherley and Colton Wardle each scored a run.

Andritsos helped his own cause, driving in the first run of the game with a third-inning single that plated Sherley, who reached on an error. Later in the same inning, Wardle was safe on a fielder's choice, stole second and third bases before scoring what proved to be the winning run on a single by Doerries.

The hosting Tigers trimmed the lead to 2-1 in the fourth inning, but the Highlanders got that run back in the seventh. Andritsos lofted a sacrifice fly that scored Warren, who singled and moved up on an error before being sacrificed to third by Sherley.

Andritsos finished strong, retiring the Tigers in order in their final at-bat. The Highlanders' junior right-hander did not allow a hit after the fourth inning.

The Woodlands hosts Lufkin at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Scotland Yard.
