UPDATE: The Montgomery County Library System is just offering audio books and music CDs provided by hoopla digital, at this time. In following up on this story, Woodlands Online was informed that how well the services are utilized by the community, may determine whether movies will be offered at a later date, according to the library staff at the South Regional Library.

Library patrons will be able to stream instantly to their smartphones, tablets, computers and via Apple TV.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- Patrons at the Montgomery County Memorial Library can now access hoopla digital - a new service that enables Montgomery County card holders to enjoy on-demand content from their smartphones, tablets, PCS and Apple TV without waiting to borrow. And hoopla digital’s automatic return feature eliminates late fees.

hoopla digital recently announced an enhanced 2.0 interface and new partnerships with Universal Pictures, MGM, National Geographic and BBC Worldwide. The new catalog now includes popular movies and shows such as The Addams Family, The Planets, Death at a Funeral ,Waking the Dead, Coupling Scarface and Liar Liar and more. It also includes the latest album releases like Drake’s “Nothing was the Same” and Katy Perry’s “Prism.”

There is no waiting to borrow titles on hoopla digital since on-demand content can be enjoyed by multiple patrons simultaneously. Patrons who use the service also avoid library late fees as digital content borrowing periods simply expire without additional charges.

hoopla digital, which plans to grow to 800 libraries by the end of 2014, now has partnerships with more than 200 library systems across North America including: The Seattle Public Library, Los Angeles Public Library, Salt Lake Public Library, Edmonton Public Library, Houston Public Library, Plainfield Guilford Public Library and Kansas City Public Library, to name a few.

The service is now LIVE in 5 other regional libraries including Houston Public Library, Abilene Public Library, and Brazoria County Library.
