Local Woodlands volleyball player headed to the Olympic Training Center

THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Local indoor and beach volleyball player Ellie Leitko from The Woodlands, Texas, has been selected to attend two USA Volleyball National Training programs this summer. She was invited to the USA Indoor Select National Volleyball Training Program, a High Performance program which will be held in Colorado Springs and the USA Beach Volleyball Elite Training program at the Olympic Training Center in California in July 2014. “High Performance works to advance volleyball talent and build a broader and stronger pipeline of athletes and coaches for the USA Olympic Teams. It bridges the gap between USA National Teams and youth volleyball programs across the country. Done through a system of national tryouts which then qualify athletes for training programs, camps, and youth and junior national teams.”

Ellie Leitko is a Woodlands resident, student at Esprit International and a player for 692Houston Beach Volleyball. Her team partner is Jensyn Bledsoe from Magnolia, Texas, and they have traveled to tournaments in Houston, Galveston, New Braunfels, and Dallas this summer.
