THE WOODLANDS, Texas – CHI St. Luke’s Health announced today that David Argueta has accepted the role of President of The Woodlands Hospital, Lakeside Hospital, and the Springwoods Village facility, which is currently under development.

Over the past nine months, Argueta played an integral role in managing these facilities, initially named Chief Operating Officer for The Woodlands Hospital, then assuming the Interim President role in July.

“In a relatively short period of time, David gained the support and confidence of The Woodlands Hospital Board of Directors, medical staff leadership and employees,” stated Michael Richmond, Chairman of The Woodlands Hospital Board. “In addition, David has immersed himself in the community and Montgomery County, and helped to position us in the market for continued success in the face of ever-increasing competition.”

Argueta brings an impressive and diverse background to this role, with 10 years of experience with BaylorScott&White in Waco, Texas, where he served as Vice President of Operations after three years as Operations Administrator for physician services. His accomplishments at BaylorScott&White include the development, construction, and operation of a $20 million regional cancer center and a $4.5 million ambulatory surgery center, as well as recruiting more than 60 physicians.

“We are pleased to have David serve in this important role for CHI St. Luke’s,” stated Michael Covert, President and CEO of CHI St. Luke’s Health. “The Woodlands area is very important for the future growth of our system, and David has proven his leadership ability and commitment to our mission and core values. He will be an excellent permanent addition to our senior leadership team.”

Argueta earned a B.S. from Baylor University and an MBA in Healthcare Administration from the Robbins Institute for Health Policy and Leadership at Baylor University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Board Certified in Healthcare Administration. He and his wife, Christen, along with their two children, Carys (6) and Ardyn (5), look forward to continuing their involvement in and service to The Woodlands community.
